About This Quiz
Many of the things that are made by machines and factories today were made by hand back in the 18th century. While as a society, we are slowly getting back to the times of making things from scratch and putting more care into the items we use and the food we consume, we have found efficient ways to do so thanks to technological advances. That was not the case in the 1700s.
Have you ever thought about why items from back then are so valuable if found intact? It's because making them was such an art. The next time you go to a yard sale, and they have those milky glass jars, remember they're called apothecary jars. Did you know that was a profession? Those jars once probably held medicine.
Jobs are cool now, but the jobs back in the 18th century sound way more awesome. Getting to work with your hands and seeing your project through from start to finish without it spending time in a 3D printer or on a conveyor belt must have been so rewarding.
