The President of the United States of America is the most visible - they are the head of state and head of government. The Vice President of the United States is, as the name suggests, next in authority after the president. The United States Congress is the legislature of the Federal government, divided into two chambers: the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Supreme Court of the United States is the highest federal court in the country and there are nine Supreme Court Justices: one Chief Justice and eight Associate Justices.
