About This Quiz

From a young age, we were all taught that we needed to eat breakfast. But what is it really? Where did the term come from? And why does it taste so delicious? While the answer to the third question is subjective, the answers to the first two aren't, so here we go. Breakfast is the first meal humans consume daily. To phrase it better, breakfast is the meal we eat in the morning when we wake up from a night's sleep. This English term came from 'breaking the fasting period'- aka the time between the last meal of the evening and the first meal the following morning.

Breakfast is served in just about every country in the world. And although menus vary, there are traditional items like bacon, eggs, and pancakes- each with its own variation in their country of origin, of course. The preparation time usually isn't as long as lunch or dinner and cleanup is just as easy.

With all that you've learned about breakfast, can you name all of these foods from just a picture? We've even added hints to make it easier for you. So give it a go and see how many you can correctly identify.
